STUDENT WORK
Made while studying at Pratt Institute, 2014 – 2018
BREAD VENTURES
I interned with Bread Ventures, a branding company, in 2017. I worked on projects for clients such as Roadhouse Brewery, Pointguard, and Joe Coffee, as well as assisting in developing internal materials.
BOOKMAKING & DESIGN
HOUSEKEEPING
In 2017, I redesigned of the book Housekeeping by Marilynne Robinson for a graphic design course.
I created a system for the typesetting, and as the book goes on that system changes and evolves, reacting to the narrator, Ruth, and the plot.
At the back of the book these instances are identified and explained, as well as the vellum inserts found throughout the book.
SILENCE
An essay analysis of John Cage’s 4:33. The type is structured based on Cage’s principles of randomness. In working on this project I was constantly exploring new directions, leaving behind a trail of different designs. In the final revision of this project, I complied every version together, overlaying them on top of one another. It is the visual sound of my own thought process and journey in my own understanding of “silence.”
